Job Description: Sales Account Executive

Reporting to:  Regional Sales Manager

Location:  West Bromwich, West Midlands

Territory:  UK coverage

As a leading Packaging distributor providing solutions to a wide range of customers, including industrial, food service, pharmaceutical, healthcare, grocery, retail, Ecommerce and manufacturing, we are looking to recruit a Sales Account Executive to join an already successful team. The successful individual will be offered in-depth product training whilst being coached and mentored.

Job Description

  • Focused on managing and developing (upselling) existing accounts 
  • To manage a portfolio of the company’s accounts approximately 900, ensuring that profit targets are achieved and exceeded.  
  • To be the main point of contact for each Account, with emphasis on the building of relationships throughout the organisation.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with customer buying teams and other relevant contacts and be responsible for managing interaction with respective company functions.
  • Take responsibility for the margins for the allocated accounts, within the overall objectives of the business 
  • Monitor, manage and control general sales costs directly associated with the allocated accounts, including terms, rebates, discounts and transport costs to achieve the agreed objectives of net margin
  • Manage the product mix within each account to maximize sales and margin for the company
  • Understand your customers’ business needs and ensure that you offer / upsell the company’s extensive portfolio of stock and bespoke products.
  • Whilst in contact with customers, competitors, and trade associations; present a positive and successful image of the company.
  • Working closely with the external sales team, often booking appointments for client visits as and when required.

Experience Required: 

  • Proven experience in an Account Management role in a B2B / distribution environment.
  • Can make decisions under pressure and has a proven track record of performing in a high-level environment
  • Able to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems and act accordingly to gain a win/win outcome for all concerned. 
  • Demonstrate experience of excellent customer retention.
  • Confident phone manner with the ability to stay calm and focussed under pressure. (dealing with queries, customer issues)
