Hi do your eco friendly paper cups contain a wax lining?
Cups are made from Paper board with a PLA (compostable) coating inside of the cup.
Polylactide (PLA) is a biodegradable and bioactive thermoplastic aliphatic polyester derived from renewable resources, such as corn starch cassava roots, chips or starch (mostly in Asia), or sugarcane (in the rest of the world).
We are organising a "Waste-free 5km race" and are looking for fully biodegradable, compostable water cups for 700 students at the race. Is this coffee cup our best option or do you have a cold beverage equivalent? As a Climate Ambassador, I need to be confident on the details of the product I am using and recommending.
Yes the 8oz single wall Leaf Cup would be the best eco-friendly option for your race. These cups are used at marathons across Ireland as water cups.
